Love Box

Valentines Day cards need love too.

So, we had to make a box for the valentine card exchange. I’m sure most of them will have some type of slot in the top, but we went a different route.

We left the lid in tact. There were already perfect little slots on the inside of the box. So we just put a popsicle stick into each one. It props the lid open just enough to let the kids slip them in, and keep them from getting jammed up. And of course, I forgot the picture to show it. Use your imagination.

Okay, so my spacing was off on the letters. The kids are 6. Pretty sure they’ll overlook it.

We just cut up craft paper into random squares and rectangles. Then used a glue stick to adhere them. No rhyme or reason. We just put them wherever, overlapping them.

Used spray adhesive for the candy hearts. Double sided tape for the kisses. The bottom of the kisses were rounded, so the glue wouldn’t hold them. The letters for his name were done on the Silhouette Cameo. Then, we just taped them to Blow Pops, and pushed the handles into holes in the box. Finished.

It’s not perfect. Not even close. But I think it’s perfectly cute for a group of 1st graders.

You always make me laugh out loud with your posts! I made a box just like this with my nephew last year. Well not EXACTLY like Davin's. I gotta confess I had a hard time letting him do HIS creative thing, but he did and it was fabulous. I wish I had taken a picture. Love your blog!
