No before pictures. None. Why? Because I didn’t think this one was going to be picture worthy.
My plan was simple. Paint it red and sell it. Simple. Right?
But I ran into a problem. After I painted it, it looked cheap. And I mean cheap! I’m talking about the cheap ,red, kids furniture you find in the mall, kind of cheap. If you have some of that furniture, don’t take that personally. Just deal with it. I figured a bit of light distressing would fix the problem. Nope. Now, it just looked cheap and beat up.
I wanted it to show its age. So I started sanding. Have I mentioned how much I like sanding? Oh, I have? Okay never mind. Anyways, I sanded it a lot. I wanted the ware to look natural. Somehow, in the process of sanding, So, I sanded a ton! I tried to fade it all in nicely, to give it a more natural look. And in the process, I lost part of my thumbnail. No, really! Gone! But I’ll keep those pictures to myself.
Now that it’s finished, I think it’s cute. What say you? Like I said in the beginning, I didn’t think this one was going to be picture worthy. So no pictures from my lovely Canon 5D II. But I always have my iPhone on my. So one image from my iPhone.
What do you think about a hand painted “Café” stencil on this? Well too late. I was just curious.
