Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (ASCP)
You've all heard of it. Right? Well if not, you're missing out on a huge trend. Check out Annie Sloan’s Web Site for more information.
How many of you are using ASCP for your furniture projects? I haven't ventured into it yet for one simple reason, price. I've heard that it's simple, and it goes a long ways. But still? I’m skeptical.
My initial investment would have to be somewhere around $300. That's for a few basic colors, waxes and brushes.
There's no denying that every piece I've seen finished with ASCP is simply beautiful. But is it really worth it? My bigger question is, has anyone found a suitable substitute? How about a DIY recipe? Surely, someone has come up with a DIY recipe. No, I’m not calling you Surely. Not exact of course, but very similar for a fraction of the price.
I’m not trying to take anything away from this brilliant product. I’m just trying to do what most of us do, find a cheaper alternative. Now, with all that said, I’m sure I’ll break down and buy some. But first, I’ll have to sell a few non-ASCP pieces to raise the money.
In the meantime, enjoy this wonderful video tutorial. It’s very informative.
