Bread, stuffed with nutty goodness. Nuff said.
A couple weeks ago I made Cream Cheese and Raspberry stuffed French Toast. Pretty tasty, but Davin doesn’t care for Cream Cheese. But…he does like Nutella.
Like all my recipes, it’s not science. No really, I just throw shit in a bowl and mix it up. So make it how you want. Traditional stuffed French Toast is exactly that, stuffed. I like to keep things simple. Oh, and I’m cheap. So instead of buying an $8 loaf of bread, filleting each piece and filling with super sticky Nutella, I used Texas Toast, which you can find at most Walmarts or local grocery stores. I simply lathered up one side nice and thick with Nutella, then made a sandwich out of it.
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1/4 cup milk
- salt for taste
- Texas Toast or other thick bread
Wisk all ingredients together. Cover one side of a piece of bread with Nutella. Add another piece of bread to make a sandwich. In a shallow bowl, dip both sides of bread in mixture. Grill both sides until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, add syrup, serve and enjoy.
For me, this was pretty sweet. A lot sweet. A little Nutella goes a long ways. You were warned. I think this would be great with some fresh raspberries or blueberries on top of it!
Are you a Nutella fan?
